Great News! I just received our current balance in the Veterans Fund at the WAHS. The new shelter manager, Laurelle, got back to me with the total as of February 9th, 2014. We have a little over $15,000 left in our account!
Please encourage any veteran who is ready to adopt a new furry friend, to visit the Washington Area Humane Society. The dogs and cats are up to date on shots, spayed/neutered, de-fleaed, socialized and just waiting for you. Just present your DD-214 and adopt a best friend. There are no adoption fees for our local veterans, as long as the funds hold. Just tell them "Suzi sent you!" Consider donating to the Veterans Fund at the WAHS. Let's keep this wonderful program going. We need to help our veterans and our homeless animals.
I mention the Veterans Fund on the latest "Let's Talk Tailwaggers" show and touch on several subjects. My best friend, Harley, slept through most of the show on his memory foam bed! But, he did give a nice commentary at the very end of the show :-)
