Happy HOWLidays

If you're thinking of adding a new furry member to your family, consider a shelter adoption first. Veterans adopt at no charge through my Pets for U.S. Vets program at the Washington Area Humane Society. You can make the difference. Adopt, donate or purchase a coin (see below). It's a good idea to wait until after the holidays to bring a new furry friend home. It will be much calmer then and you will have more time and patience to spend on training and loving your new best friend. Be safe and kind this holiday season.  God Bless America!                                                                            Your Pal, Suzi

On My Way Back

Hi Everybody!
I haven't updated for a few months due to a family emergency. But, rest assured, I am still working behind the scenes to get our local veterans and our local homeless animals teamed up. Please buy a Star Wars Commemorative Coin or donate to the Veterans Fund at the WAHS. This program that we started back in 2010 is still going strong. If you have any ideas for fundraising for this cause please let me know. Scroll to the beginning of this blog to learn how all of this started. Our local veterans don't pay adoption fees at the WAHS. It is a wonderful way to honor our vets and save our pets! Please help by donating or adopting. If you donate at the WAHS, please say it is strictly for the Veterans Fund. The code to put on your check is U.S. Pets for Vets. You can always reach me at dogparty84@aol.com with any ideas, questions or comments. Thank you for caring. Star Wars Commemorative Coin

Hi Everybody!

I just wanted to give an update on what's going on with the Pets for U.S. Vets. I am happy to announce that Pets for U.S. Vets at the Washington Area Humane Society has been voted to be on a Star Wars Commemorative coin. Lucas Films and Disney will be contacted for approval. Then the coins go on sale. I will update as soon as I get more information.

This is a Godsend. All of the money from the sale of the coins will go into the Veterans Fund. Our local Veterans don't pay adoption fees. They get a one year wellness program when they adopt. The pet is spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, micro-chipped and socialized!

If you are a Veteran and want to adopt, just take your DD-214 and tell them that Suzi sent you. If you want to donate to this wonderful program, make sure to put this code on your donation "US Pets for Vets" for their book-keeping system.  I don't handle any money, I just find ways to get it there.

Thank you and God Bless America!!!
